Alkali resistant glass fiber is an engineering alkali resistant short cut fiber mainly used in concrete and water setting mortar. According to actual usage, it can also be divided into alkali resistant glass fiber direct yarn, alkali resistant glass fiber spray yarn, alkali resistant glass fiber short cut yarn for repairing mortar and GRC components, alkali resistant glass fiber short cut coarse yarn for spraying, alkali resistant fiber for base mortar, alkali resistant fiber for dry mixed mortar, etc.
Technical specifications
This fiber has a high zirconium content, complies with ASTMC1666/C1666/M-07 and EN15422 standards,
and is produced according to PCI and GRCA recommendations.
| Fiber Length | Original filament diameter (ISO 1888:2006) | Loss on ignition LOI (%) (ISO 1887:1995) | Moisture content MOL (%) (ISO 3344:1997) |
| 3-6-9-12-18mm | 14μm | 0.60 | W0.50 |
Application area
1. Building materials: Reinforcement of GRC components, mortar, and concrete to improve crack resistance and durability.
2. Road and transportation: Asphalt pavement reinforcement to enhance rutting resistance and low-temperature crack performance.
3. Industrial corrosion protection: Chemical storage tanks and flue linings, improving alkali resistance and corrosion durability.
4. New energy applications: Wind turbine blades and photovoltaic components, enhancing strength and weather resistance.
Construction suggestions
• Cement mortar: 1.5–3.0 kg/m³, suitable for crack control and impermeability applications.
• Ordinary concrete: 2.0–4.0 kg/m³, enhancing crack resistance and durability.
• Asphalt mixture: 4.0–6.0 kg/ton (approximately 0.4%–0.6% by mass), improving rutting resistance.
• GRC components: For spray application, 30–50 kg/m³; for premixed application, 20–30 kg/m³.
