Product Description
Sodium tetraborate decahydrate.Borax Decahydrate is the refined form of natural sodium borate. Composed of boric oxide (B2O3), sodium oxide, and water, it is a mild, alkaline salt, white and crystalline, with excellent buffering and fluxing properties. Available in powder or granular form, Borax Decahydrate is an important multifunctional source of B2O3, particularly for processes in which the simultaneous presence of sodium is beneficial.
Application
The role of borax in concrete mainly includes:
Retarding effect: Borax can be used as a retarding agent for concrete, by forming a calcium borate coating on the surface of cement clinker particles, delaying the coagulation of sulphoaluminate cement and maintaining its fluidity. In the production of aerated concrete, the main function of borax is to delay the hydration and setting rate of cement in the mixture and regulate the thickening rate of the mixture.
Improve the strength and durability of cement: Boron can promote the setting and hardening process of cement, improving the strength and durability of cement. Boron can form a stable complex in cement, making it easier for the Silicate ions in cement to combine with water molecules, thus promoting the solidification and hardening process of cement.
