    Product Description

    ALIAS: Potassium Thiocyanate,Potassium rhodanide

    Potassium thiocyanate is an inorganic compound, a colorless crystal, deliquing. The melting point is about 173℃; Dissolved in water, its aqueous solution is neutral, easy to delix in the air, and has a large amount of heat and cooling. At low temperatures, semi-aqueous crystals can be obtained, stable at -29.5 ~ 6.8 ° C, blue when burning to about 430 ° C, and colorless again after cold. Heating to 500 ° C decomposes, releasing toxic cyanide and sulfide fumes.

    Potassium thiocyanate is a colorless crystalline or white granular solid with a bitter taste. It is a weak acid soluble in water and alcohol solvents and can produce hydroxide ions and thiocyanogen ions.

    Potassium thiocyanate is a white crystal, with the chemical formula KSCN, its molecules contain sulfur, carbon, and nitrogen three elements. In concrete, potassium thiocyanate can be enhanced by the following mechanisms:

    1. Enhance cement hydration reaction: cement is one of the most important components in concrete, potassium thiocyanate can promote the reaction of minerals and water in cement particles, thereby improving the strength of concrete.

    2. Promote calcification reaction in concrete: Adding potassium thiocyanate to concrete can promote calcification reaction, thereby increasing the density and hardness of concrete.

    3. Inhibition of chloride ion erosion: potassium thiocyanate can form insoluble potassium thiocyanate with chloride ions, thereby inhibiting the erosion of chloride ions and improving the durability and chemical resistance of concrete.

    Application

    Potassium thiocyanate is a common concrete strengthening agent, widely used in various concrete structures, such as Bridges, subway tunnels, water conservancy projects, and so on. It is mainly used in the following aspects:

    1. Improve the strength of concrete: potassium thiocyanate can improve the compressive strength, tensile strength, and shear strength of concrete, thereby improving the mechanical properties of concrete.

    2. Increase the compactness of concrete: potassium thiocyanate can improve the formation rate of calcium gel in cement stone, improve the internal structure of concrete, and thus increase the compactness and durability of concrete.

    3. Improve the durability and chemical resistance of concrete: potassium thiocyanate can slow the erosion and chemical corrosion of acidic substances in concrete, thereby improving the durability and corrosion resistance of concrete.
