Product Description
Sodium sulfate (chemical formula: Na₂SO₄) is an inorganic salt composed of the elements sodium, sulfur, and oxygen. It is a white powder, soluble in water, with hygroscopicity. When sulfur is dissolved in water, its aqueous solution is mostly neutral. Instability: In the chemical synthesis laboratory, sodium sulfate is a more commonly used post-treatment desiccant, which is easy to absorb water when exposed to air and generates sodium sulfate decahydrate, also known as salt water, which is alkaline. Flammability: upstream raw materials include sulfuric acid, caustic soda, etc. Reactivity: Sodium sulfate is a strong acid and alkali salt containing oxic acid, which can react with some substances. For example, sodium sulfate reacts with barium chloride to form a barium sulfate precipitate and sodium chloride; Sodium sulfate reacts with some chemicals and is used to make certain chemical compounds.
Application
Sodium sulfate concrete hardening accelerating is a common sulfate early-hardening agent that dissolves easily in water. After being incorporated into concrete, sodium sulfate concrete hardening can undergo a series of chemical interactions with the components in the cement to eventually generate calcium sulfoaluminate hydrate, which accelerates the hardening of the cement.
The use of sodium sulfate
1. Detergent: Sodium sulfate is often used as an additive in detergent because of its better water solubility and adsorption, which helps to remove stains and oil stains.
2. Agricultural fertilizers: Sodium sulfate can be used as raw materials in agricultural fertilizers for the production of complex fertilizers such as ammonium sulfate and potassium sulfate. These fertilizers play an important role in improving the yield and quality of crops.
3. Industrial use: In industry, sodium sulfate is widely used in glass, paper, petroleum, chemical, and other fields. For example, in glass manufacturing, sodium sulfate can be used as a clarifying agent to help remove impurities and improve the transparency of the glass.
4. Drug preparation: Sodium sulfate is also used in drug preparation. For example, as a kind of Chinese medicine, sodium sulfate is its main component. In addition, sodium sulfate can also be used to prepare some drug intermediates.
5. Other uses: In addition to the above uses, sodium sulfate is also used in printing and dyeing, leather, food, and other fields. For example, in the printing and dyeing industry, sodium sulfate can be used as a mordant to help improve the coloring effect of dyes. In leather manufacturing, sodium sulfate can be used to treat leather to make it softer and smoother. In addition, in the food industry, sodium sulfate is also used as additives such as preservatives and thickeners.

Technology Service
Operation precautions: closed operation, strengthened ventilation. Operators must be specially trained and strictly abide by the operating procedures. It is recommended that the operator wear a self-priming filter dust mask, chemical safety glasses, protective work clothes, and rubber gloves. Avoid producing dust. Avoid contact with acids. Light loading and unloading during handling to prevent packing damage. Equipped with leak emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may have harmful residues. When the concentration of dust in the air exceeds the standard, a self-priming filter dust mask must be worn. Wear a gas mask when rescuing or evacuating in an emergency.
Storage precautions:
Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat. It should be stored separately from acids and should not be mixed. Storage areas should be equipped with suitable materials to contain leaks.
Sodium sulfate emergency treatment:
Isolate the contaminated area of leakage and restrict access. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear dust masks (full face masks) and protective clothing. Avoid dust, sweep it up carefully, place it in a bag, and transfer it to a safe place. If a large amount of leakage, with plastic sheet, or canvas cover. Collect and recycle or transport to waste disposal site for disposal. If leakage occurs, dispose of it in a safe burial after neutralization.
